Soccer also known as football in other parts of the world is a beautiful game and is the largest followed sports in the world. It is loved and adored by people of all ages, races and sizes. It is a game that is very easy to play and requires very less equipment.

If you want to have some fun with your friends simply pick up a ball and start playing, but if you want to play for a proper team you’ve simply got to have the right soccer team uniform and the right gear. The attire and equipment rules are determined by Fédération Internationale de Football Association more commonly known as FIFA. FIFA is the International governing body of football (soccer) and regulates all the rules including the attire related rules. Here are some things that you need if you really want to play soccer properly.

1.      A Soccer Jersey
A soccer jersey is a compulsion for every player to wear during a soccer game. The whole outfield team has to wear the same soccer jersey. The only difference between them is of the name and number at the back. The players can wear short sleeved or long sleeved shirts. Both are allowed by the soccer governing body. The players are also allowed to wear sleeves and compression wear but they should exactly match the soccer jersey color donned by the team. The goalkeeper also known as the goalie has a different color jersey. This is to help the referee and the players identify who the goalkeeper and whether a player who has handled the ball in the attacking D is allowed to do so or not (only goalies can handle the ball in their own D).
The soccer jersey should always be made of breathable, stretchable, moisture wicking fabrics and should have a nice fitting to them. This is so that the players are comfortable and have that ease of motion to perform at their very best every game. The jerseys play a very crucial role and should always selected keeping the comfort of the player in mind.

2.      A pair of Soccer Shorts
Soccer shorts are an important part of the soccer attire. They like the soccer jerseys are compulsory to be worn by each and every player on the field. Like the jerseys the whole outfield team has to wear matching soccer shorts. The shorts should not be longer than knee-length. The players are also allowed to wear compression wear but they should exactly match the soccer shorts color donned by the team. The goalkeeper also known as the goalie has a different color jersey thus his shorts are also different. The soccer shorts should always be made of breathable, stretchable, moisture wicking fabrics and should have a nice fitting. This is so that the players are comfortable and have that ease of motion to perform at their very best every game. The soccer shorts like the soccer jerseys play a very crucial role and should always selected keeping the comfort of the player in mind.

3.      Soccer Socks and Shin Guards
Soccer socks and shin guards are a must wear protective equipment for every player. Without wearing them, a player is not allowed to set foot on the soccer field. The whole team should wear matching socks (the goal keeper wears the socks that match his soccer team uniform). These long socks protect the player’s knees from grass burns and rashes and also keep the player’s shin guards in place. Shin guards are a protective equipment that saves the player from sustaining injuries to the shin (the most vulnerable area when playing soccer). The shin guards should be made of plastic or carbon fiber for better protection.

4.      A pair of soccer boots.
Soccer boots are again a compulsion. No matter what position you play you simply have to wear them. These special shoes have cleats underneath then to provide stability, grip and ease of motion to the players on the grassy soccer field. The shape of these shoes is made in such a way that it aids kicking the ball. Soccer boots play a very important role in the performance of a player which is why, one should always wear proper soccer cleats when going out to the field.
