Why do sports players wear visors?
Visor plays a pivotal role in sports. There are different types of visors. Each of the visors has a different purpose and is designed for a specific type of sport. For instance, in football, Some players wear visors temporarily to prevent damage from occurring to an existing injury, and then remove it once the injury has healed.
However, in golf, the purpose of wearing a mens golf visor is quite different. Golfers wear visors because they are trendy and worn by some of the world's best players. Also, visors help them to keep their head cooler on sunny days, as it has an open-top design and rear strap that is quite adjustable.
There are three main reasons golfers wear visors: Protection from the sun, reduced glare, and the clear vision to follow the ball.
1. Protection from the Sun:
The primary reason to wear a golf visor or a hat on the golf course is to protect your head from the sun. When you are playing golf, you are supposed to play it in the open ground without any sort of shelter also you are exposed to a great deal of sun for many hours.
Since there is no shelter on a golf course, you must create your own in order to protect your eyes and for better vision to chase the ball. So, wearing a visor or a hat can be a solution.
2. Less Glare:
Obviously, a golf ball is a bit glossy which is quite challenging for a golfer to see on a sunny day. Many golfers have started using matte finish on their golf balls, and some will wear sunglasses as well.
When you see a ball clearly, you will have a good time making contact and have a good game. So, a visor or a rounded hat can be a good option.
3. Clear Vision To Follow The Golf Ball:
Once you make contact with the golf ball, you will need to follow it. It is quite difficult for golfers to keep their focus on golf. As, once they hit a golf shot into the sun, they will surely lose sight of the golf ball due to the sun.
When you lose sight of a good shot it's not too much of a problem. As you will look in the general area where you were trying to hit and probably find a ball.
Wearing a visor or a hat allows you to track your ball even much easier than if you didn't have a visor on.
